IONM Services

Neuromonitoring Technologies, Inc (NMT) utilizes a multi-modality protocol for every surgical procedure that is monitored.  This entails utilizing several if not all of the following applications simultaneously:

Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEPs)- Monitors the integrity of the dorsal columns in the spinal cord.
        Upper Extremity SSEP
        Lower Extremity SSEP
Free-Run Electromyography (EMG)- Monitors real-time nerve root function
Pedicle Screw Stimulation and Triggered EMG- Monitors the integrity of the pedicle wall and the proximity to nerve roots
Direct Nerve Stimulation and Triggered EMG- Monitors both the location and integrity of nerves and nerve roots
Transcranial Motor Evoked Potentials (TcMEPs)- Monitors the integrity of the corticospinal tract in the spinal cord
Train of Four- Monitors the patient’s neuromuscular blockade status
Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)- Monitors the integrity of the VIII cranial nerve and brainstem structures
Electroencephalogram (EEG)- Monitors the bioelectrical activity spontaneously generated by the cerebral cortex
Cortical Mapping- Used to determine the location of significant areas in the brain associated with, among others, speech and language, sensation and movement
Direct Nerve Recording- Monitors the integrity of specific nerves
